Google Pixel 3a Review

At first, you may not identify any differences between the budget-friendly Pixel 3a and the expensive Pixel 3. But to get the Pixel 3a's price low enough to make a significant impact on the market, Google had to take out some niceties. The Pixel 3a loses the IP rating, swaps the glass for plastic, removes wireless charging, and changes out the top-of-the-line PROCESSOR for something more middling. However, The Google Pixel 3a Amazon does as well as my Pixel 2XL did, for half of the price.

Pros: low cost, impressive camera system, google ecosystem, battery life, headphone jack Disadvantages: a bit buggy phone application, cheaper materials, not quite waterproofed, not having wireless charging, no earbuds included

The more expensive Pixel 3a XL is usually spec-for-spec almost similar to the more compact Pixel 3a. The most significant improvement is the bigger battery and larger display. More juice equals more power to provide you during the entire day. You could check out the 3a XL if those are the functionality you prefer.

Probably the most valuable features of the Google Pixel 3 is Active Edge, that lets you squeeze the edges of the handset to summon Google Assistant, which is also present in the Pixel 3a, and that's something we didn't expect given the cheaper price tag. It did feel just a little harder to press when compared to on the Pixel 3 on the other hand, so we noticed ourselves required to squeeze quite tight to work with the feature. The Pixel 3a is a little bigger when compared to its luxurious forebear, with the dimensions of 151.3 x 70.1 x 8.2mm, but it's rather light weight at 148g - this is due to, as said before, instead of the glass back of the Pixel 3, the rear of the Pixel 3a is just plastic, causing the handset a slightly less 'premium' experience.

The display on the Pixel 3a is undoubtedly brilliant. We never once looked over the device while in the review period and think we were looking over at a smart phone which usually cost $399. Other than having a a little poor pixel density than its premium counterparts, the Pixel 3a's display was great to look at. We are likely to keep the screen brightness up the whole day, bumping it up to 100% when out of doors. It would have been nice to enjoy a brighter display, specifically for outdoor usage. Google allows you to tweak the color tone of the screen. We saved the default Adaptive setting enabled since We seen it the most true-to-life, even if colors were a little over-saturated sometimes.
